In this workshop, the impact of addiction on family relationships will be explored. Discussions and exercises will examine common obstacles that make it difficult for family members to break or change unhealthy attachments, the benefits of healthy detachment, and how to achieve valuable relationship goals.
"Couples Enhancement" WorkshopWhen one or both people in a relationship have a history of addiction, there are special issues that the partners need to address in order to have healthy intimacy and support in the relationship. The Couples' Workshops are geared toward committed couples that are able to work together well to promote growth in the relationship. Activities will be positively worded and interactive, addressing getting to know and understand each other better, improving overall communication and discussing needs, among other topics.
The workshops are led by certified social workers and clinical addiction treatment counselors. Each session is limited to 20 or fewer participants, so each person or couple is able to receive personalized attention from the counselors.
Please note: These workshops are not intended to save troubled marriages, where the issues are significant enough to warrant individual marital counseling and the couple would not be best served in a group setting.
