Frequently Asked Questions

Ashley hires only experienced counselors for clinical care, and most have been with us at least eight years. Counselors are certified by the Maryland Board of Professional Counselors. Clinical counselors in the Relapse Program are trained and certified in the Gorski Relapse Method, and some of our counselors hold counseling licenses with private practice privileges. In the Family Wellness program, all counselors hold a master's degree in social work and are trained in family therapy.

 

Ashley's counselor-to-patient ratio is one certified counselor for about every eight or fewer patients. This assures that patients receive individual attention from counselors who are familiar with each patient's needs. Patients normally meet individually with counselors up to twice a week, and in group therapy daily (Monday through Friday).

 

In addition to counseling, medical, and administrative staff, Ashley employees provide food and housekeeping services and maintain our buildings and grounds.
